Visiting us is by appointment only during our extensive opening hours (Monday-Friday 6:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Saturday 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM). Simply arrange your delivery to us, drive in, and our knowledgeable staff will guide you.

Visiting with an unusual or oversized load? For large-scale industrial scrap, such as dismantled plant machinery or significant volumes of production waste, we highly recommend advising your local J T Watton Metals yard in advance. This allows us to best prepare for your arrival and ensure the most efficient unloading process.

Step 3: Identifying and Weighing Your Industrial Metal

Once your business account is registered, our team will direct you to the appropriate area of the yard for your material:

• Ferrous Metals: These are iron-based metals, which are generally magnetic. This includes heavy industrial steel, cast iron, machinery, and production offcuts.
• Non-Ferrous Metals: This category encompasses all other metals like copper, brass, aluminium, lead, and stainless steel – often higher-value materials common in manufacturing and automotive production.

Our yards are equipped with certified weighbridges and platform scales to accurately determine the weight of your industrial scrap, ensuring a precise valuation. If you're uncertain about metal categories, our on-site team is always ready to assist with identification.

Step 2: Registering Your Business Account

For new industrial and commercial customers, a quick and secure registration process is required to set up your business account. We require specific documentation to comply with the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013:

• Photo ID: A valid UK photo driving license or passport.
• Proof of Business Address: A utility bill, bank statement, or other official document showing your business address, dated within the last three months.
